Collection: Chikankari Embroidery

The delicate art form of Chikankari was born in the heart of Uttar Pradesh.

Legend has it that a Mughal princess, mesmerized by the delicate floral patterns on Persian carpets, yearned to create something similar. A skilled artisan, hearing her wish, set about to weave a fabric as exquisite as the princess's imagination. Thus, Chikankari was born.

The art form flourished under the patronage of the Mughals, who adorned their royal garments with Chikankari's intricate designs. Chikankari's allure lies in its simplicity. White cotton thread is used to create intricate patterns on sheer fabrics like muslin. The stitches, though tiny, are meticulously crafted, forming a delicate lace-like effect. The most common motifs are floral, inspired by the beauty of nature.
