The Black Shisha Waistcoat Co-ord Set is inspired by the Shisha embroidery of Gujarat and Rajasthan, India.

Crafted in Suede Velvet, the waistcoat has tailored fit and the trouser has comfort fit with a beautiful flair at the bottom. The co-ord set features hand-embroidered mirrors in assorted shapes and sizes. The piece has details of black crystal beads at the edges of the waistcoat and at the pockets of the trouser. The trouser is secured with a steel trouser hook and has deep pockets.

Inspiration Craft

SHISHA EMBROIDERY : Shisha embroidery is a traditional Indian embroidery technique that involves small mirrors called 'shisha' or 'mirror work'. These mirrors are typically made of glass or plastic and come in various shapes and sizes.

Legends believe that the idea of introducing mirrors as embellishments was inspired by the twinkling stars in the sky. Embedding tiny pieces of glass into the fabric, reflects light just like the stars above. People from the Rajasthani and Gujarati communities also believed that mirrors ward off evil spirits by reflecting them away.

As this magical art form evolved, each stitch around the mirror became more intricate. Even today, Shisha embroidery continues to dazzle and inspire, reminding us of the timeless beauty found in both the simplest and most extraordinary things.
